Superpower

Superpower

Daily Post today suggested this:

You get to choose one superpower. Pick one of these, and explain your choice:

  • the ability to speak and understand any language
  • the ability to travel through time
  • the ability to make any two people agree with each other

I would so pick option number one, the ability to speak and understand any language. Wouldn’t that just be awesome…to be able to speak to anyone in the world no matter what their language? Of course I look at it this way…. I would be able to talk to any animal too. 🙂 Yay me. I can see this proving my theory that animals have a language we just haven’t learned how to speak it.

Oh the things I would tell them.

1) Look both ways before you cross a highway or any road.

2) When a person treats you badly run away.

3) Don’t injure the person who cares for you.

LOL I am sure I could think of lots more.

And the things I could learn from them too. No one really knows what they think or what they know. This could be valuable information to the world to know. (Hey, you never know and I heard once upon a time that knowledge is power.)

Moo!

Microsoft Word 2013

I have Microsoft Office 2013 and it is wicked cool. Has a lot of features I enjoy. For instance I love the bibliography feature. I input all the information and it makes the bibliography for me. In Word though it has a way (Supposedly) to blog. All you have to do is link to your blog. WordPress is even on the list. GREAT! Yeah, so why can’t I log in? I thought this would be a really awesome feature as I could work on blog posts and then post them when I am ready to do so. Can’t do that if I can’t log in. Hmmmm. Makes me wonder if any other WordPress bloggers have tried this interesting feature and had the same issue. If you have I would love to hear about it. If you have not had a problem with this feature I would love to hear your input too. I just don’t understand why I can’t do it and can’t seem to figure out how to make it work. Ugh. 🙂 Okay back to work.

Daily Prompt: Ten Questions and My Answers

Daily Prompt: Ten Questions and My Answers

So apparently there was a show called Inside the Actor’s Studio and the host asked each of the guests the same ten questions. Daily Prompt said “Hey cool idea” and suggested using the questions as a blog post. So I looked at the questions and said “Why not. Should be fun.” Here I go.

  • What is your favorite word?

My favorite word? Most people who know me would think that my favorite word is ‘cow’. However I get a really big kick out of randomly saying ‘peanut butter’. I don’t know that it is my favorite word though. There are SOOOO many words in the world and many of them are my favorites. Love, Hope, Positivity, Positive, Weird, Crazy, Unique, ….I could keep going but I have more questions to answer.

  • What is your least favorite word?

Well…. I despise ‘twit’. A family member apparently used that word to refer to me in front of my children who now constantly tell me that I am a ‘twit’. What kind of word is ‘twit’ anyway? and what does it mean, other than the obvious it is unflattering. I also dislike a few four letter words. First and foremost the usual female dislike of the “C” word. (I am sure you know it and if you don’t well it really isn’t THAT important to know) The second I dislike is something some people who have to deal with it dislike. 😉 Four-letters, starts with an “S” ends with a “W”. (Lol oh come one you can figure that out, well unless you live near the equator or where it is warm year-round lol)

  • What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Well that is a loaded question. LOL. What turns me on creatively, spiritually, or emotionally? HMMM. Cows, love, friends, family.

  • What turns you off?

Like in what aspect? Okay let’s see……… Guys with big-egos, people who can not be nice, people who spend all their time saying or trying to prove they are better than me (I am not saying I am better I know who I am and I am happy with me), Blood, gross food (yes broad but there are WAY too many of those).

  • What is your favorite curse word?

Probably “FUCK”

  • What sound or noise do you love?

Mooing. (Come on, you should have expected that one)

  • What sound or noise do you hate?

Certain noises my kids manage to make, squeaking, fingernails on a chalkboard

  • What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Um, despite my dislike of blood I think being a crime investigator would be interesting. Genetic engineer.

  • What profession would you not like to do?

anything to do with sewage.

  • If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

“Holy shit, you made it.”

Respecting Power Tools

Apparently, I needed a lesson in how to properly respect power tools (this according to the father of my children, who I don’t always get along with).  Hmmmm.
Now I do not like power tools. I prefer the hard work of doing it the old fashioned way (hammer, screwdriver, saw). However, I like how sometimes you can get stuff done faster with the power tool.
For almost thirty-two years I have done quite well without actually using a power tool (cause I can usually get someone else to do it)…. This year though I ended up having to use a sawzall? (I can never keep them straight).
I needed wood cut and ‘hubby’ (yeah we’re married too but that is a whole nother complicated story) couldn’t be bothered to cut my wood (I’m using pallets as kindling) because his chainsaw was dull or he was busy, or tired, or, or, or… Get it?
He ended up ‘loaning’ (I’ve had it like three weeks now) to cut up the wood. My arm is killing me from the vibrations but I’ve been keeping my house and children warm.
Today he tells me that he has a skilsaw? He will give me to use. So instead of a long tool with a blade at the end which vibrates the blade fast (I’ve grown comfortable with but still leery of)  I’m to use a round blade thing which gives anyone a bigger chance of injuring themselves (and I’m talking normal people not clumsy, accident-prone me). Uh I don’t Think so.
Yeah then he tells me that it will be easier (though more dangerous) and he had to wait til I learned how to properly respect the power tool before I could use it.
Hmmf. I respect the darn things enough NOT to use them all these years. (eye-roll). Give me some credit. I have gone thirty-two years without an injury from a power tool I think I’ll keep adding to my record, thank you very much.
Lesson learned…… Long before you felt the need to ‘teach’ me.
Men.
Yeah I know all men aren’t like that. It just doesn’t work the same if I use a different word (like his name, he isn’t the only one in the world with his name).
I don’t get why other people feel the need to ‘teach’ people things they already know. It’s like explaining to an adult that sticking your finger in an electric socket causes pain…. Most learned that as a child.
I don’t fear power tools, I have a healthy respect and keep my distance, like normal people and a bull. :-).

FInding a Job is A PAIN

I have been searching for months for a job. Since before I lost my last job, since I wanted to keep working. Now here I am no job and a week behind on a bill. (A rather important bill since it is for the laptop I currently use for my schoolwork, yeah I blog with it too.) Anyway….There is NOTHING out there for someone like me apparently…. I am a dairy farmer. I work with animals. I don’t care what kinds as I like them all. But I can’t freaking find work.

So I broaden my horizons. I have been looking…EVERYWHERE. I’ve filled out and turned in applications at so many places but so far NOTHING. This is tiring. I know I have applied at jobs I do not want to do  but I need the money to pay my bills, to feed my kids, and to feed my animals (who next year should start earning me money but for now I am struggling). UGH!

Why do I keep hearing how the economy is getting better and unemployment is down when….HELLO! I CAN NOT FIND A JOB!

UGH! Yeah I am annoyed.

It is frustrating. Do I sound cocky like I am good and I know it? Or does that seem overbearing? How do you sound like the best choice without overdoing it? I have not had to look for a job for EIGHT YEARS! WTH!

OH well. back to the drawing board. hunting for more places to apply to.

Hope you are having a good day.

COWCRZY

I don’t agree with your parenting choices. Now let me explain how you should raise your own children.

I don't agree with your parenting choices. Now let me explain how you should raise your own children..

Wow. Some of the things he said I never thought about before, it made me think and go…Yeah, He’s right. I know I deal with quite often people telling me just how terrible a parent I am because….
I am not a perfect parent, but I also do not believe I am a terrible parent. I just prefer to parent my children in the same way I do everything in my life….Just a tad off the straight path and little bit crazily.

I remember this one time I was at my mother’s with the kids for Christmas. She asked me if my daughter wanted a fork or spoon to eat with (I think she was 2 or 3 at the time). Well, I turned and asked my daughter, “Do you want a fork or spoon?” My mother then tells me that I HAVE to tell her what she wants. No, I do not. It is an eating utensil and what we are eating it doesn’t much matter which utensil she uses and in this case she can make her own choice. If the choice was different for instance, we were having soup I would have said spoon with no hesitance or asking my daughter. There are things that she can make decisions on even at her young age and I want her to be able to make her own choices. Sure being a parent there are times where I will not allow her to have a choice. You may not touch the hot stove or stick your finger in the electric outlet or my glass collection. I think even at a young age children should be allowed to make decisions on certain things. I know it annoyed the crap out of me at a young age being forced into certain circumstances. Sure those circumstances made me who I am today but I resented them.
I decided as a teenager I no longer wished to attend the court-ordered private school I was attending. Yes, it was court-ordered. During my parents divorce my mother (I am talking about her a lot today huh lol) decided to take me from the school I was comfortable with and move me across state (pretty much) to a public school. I threw a fit and told my dad who had me talk to the guardian ad litem (kid’s attorney back in the day). My guardian ad litem told the court that school was the one stable thing I had (and my little sister) and so the court decreed that we stay there unless my parents could agree. Can they? That is a big resounding NO! We ended up going back to court and my sister and I got to talk to the judge and explain to her why we wanted to change schools. Why did we do this? My mother (there she is again) decided that dad was brainwashing us because he did not want to pay the tuition at the private school anymore. Yeah he probably didn’t but my sister and I were the ones who came up with the reasons which had she listened would have made sense that they came from us and not dad. I am glad dad let me think for myself.
Anyway, I am rambling but it’s my blog I’ll talk about what I want. LOL.
Matt’s blog post was really good so if you are interested after reading this long ramble of mine go check it out.
